Timpoochee Trail Multi-Use Path Closing for Construction from Highway 83 to Highway 283
Timpoochee Trail Multi-use Path Closing for Construction from Highway 83 to CR 283
WALTON COUNTY, Fla.—January 15, 2018—Beginning Wednesday, January 17, the bike path between Highway 83 in Blue Mountain Beach and County Road 283 in Grayton Beach will be closed for repair/replacement. The multi-use path will be closed for approximately 120 days.
The project is part of a multi-year capital improvement project to repair/replace the multi-use path along Walton County’s scenic corridors. Improvements include complete removal of existing 8’ wide path and replacement with new base material, new 10’asphalt surface, new signage, storm water systems, and other amenities to make the path safer and user friendly. Also included in this project is the removal and replacement of the wooden bridges at the coastal dune lakes along this section of path. The new path and bridge design will be similar to the recently completed multi-use path project at Western Lake.
