New Accommodation Updates and Renovations

Hotel Effie is a new full-service hotel located within the Sandestin Golf and Beach resort and includes a Celebrity Chef led restaurant (Ovide), a lobby bar, room service, a luxury spa, a fitness facility and a signature rooftop pool and bar. In addition to these amenities, the four-star hotel will feature over 20,000 feet of meeting space and feature a 13,000 square foot ballroom. Opening Feb. 1, 2021.

New Events

 

The PGA Korn Ferry Tour and Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort are excited to announce a new tournament to debut in 2021. The Emerald Coast Classic at Sandestin will be contested at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort’s Raven Golf Club the week of March 29 – April 4, with 156 players competing for a $600,000 purse. 

New Restaurant Openings and Renovations:

The CITIZEN, a coastal tavern with fine indoor, outdoor and take-away dining, an 18-seat bar, 12-seat custom raw bar, and featuring an open window to the kitchen’s wood-fired hearth, opens to the public Friday, January 22, on the ground level of The May condominium. With former Alys Beach Vice President of Operations, Jeremy Walton at the helm, The CITIZEN will have the advantage of his extensive experience cultivated in the luxury culinary and hospitality arena. The CITIZEN is will provide a highly anticipated, exquisite public dining experience in Alys Beach.


Scratch Biscuit Kitchen will open on Monday, Feb. 1, in the WaterColor® Town Center, serving up made-from-scratch biscuits and its own signature coffee blend in a casual, family-friendly environment that’s sure to feel like a home away from home. The restaurant features a playful breakfast and lunch menu, house-made jams, jellies and gravies, signature blend coffee and more – all available for dine-in or to-go. Scratch Biscuit Kitchen is open daily, from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m., with counter, indoor and outdoor seating available. In an effort to seat guests more efficiently, Scratch Biscuit Kitchen does not accept reservations.

 

Ovide is located within the new Hotel Effie and is an elegant, culinary adventure led by acclaimed Georgia chef Hugh Acheson. Ovide brings together classic Gulf Coast flavors and impeccable classic French technique. At Ovide, every dish is fueled by a passion for sustainability and seasonality that gives each bite incredible flavor unlike anything you’ve tasted before. Opening Feb. 1, 2021.

Effin Egg is a new all day breakfast restaurant located at Inlet Beach specializing in breakfast sandwiches. The menu is inspired by a true love of eggs and meals made from only the freshest and finest ingredients. Effin Egg’s signature egg “sammies” hit the spot all day long.

Prema Organic Café opened in late 2020. Always fresh, organic and gluten free, the new Seagrove café specializes in cold-pressed juice, smoothies, bowls, grab-and-go food and salads. Prema Organic Café is manifested passion with a mission to share wholesome, fresh and simple food with the community.

Black Bear Bread Company’s second café location is now open at Hyatt Place Sandestin at Grand Boulevard. The menu and daily specials are ever-changing and feature offerings based on seasonality from local farmers and artisans. Black Bear regulars can still enjoy their go-to menu favorites also offered at the company’s Grayton Beach café and retail bakery. All of Black Bear’s artisan breads and pastries are baked from scratch each morning at their wholesale bakery in Grayton and are transported freshly-baked daily to Grand Boulevard. A full selection of Stumptown Coffee offerings, along with a thoughtfully curated selection of canned craft beers and natural wines make up the beverage offerings.

The Gathering Spot at WaterColor Inn has reopened as a reimagined bar and lounge. Now featuring a revamped menu of small plates and handcrafted cocktails, the lobby bar is an inviting spot for gathering with friends in a laidback lounge setting. Cozy up to the warmth of the hotel’s poolside fire pits and enjoy drinks and shareable menu items inspired by American cuisine with a twist. Live music and specials will be offered seasonally. Open to the public; reservations are not accepted. Free valet for all guests. Hours vary seasonally.

 

La Cocina is closed through January and will reopen on Feb. 1 after a complete remodel with a new logo and new name, LaCo, as well as an updated menu that boasts Latin, coastal lunch and brunch items. Brunch will be available daily at 10 a.m. LaCo is a Latin-inspired restaurant with a coastal twist, featuring specialty dishes prepared from scratch using the freshest ingredients available.

Havana Beach Bar & Grill, The Pearl Hotel’s hallmark AAA Four-Diamond restaurant, now offers an additional dining experience. The Havana Beach Lounge provides a new intimate and casual hideaway ideal for sharing a menu of small plates, pre-dinner cocktails or both. Nestled within the restaurant’s main dining room, the cozy and tropical hideaway-inspired Lounge feels tucked away in Old Havana. Just as the restaurant draws its inspiration from Ernest Hemingway’s colorful and storied old-town Havana haunt, El Floridita, so too does the Lounge give a nod to its warmth and style. The Havana Beach Lounge is open daily, 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.; hours may vary seasonally.

The Foster Gallery has opened a new, larger location in Grand Boulevard Town Center across from Tommy Bahama and next door to Chico’s. Open 12 p.m.-7 p.m. daily. Works can be viewed and purchased online and curbside pickup is also available.
